Today we went to Zion National Park and hiked Angel's Landing. Zion was even more beautiful than the Grand Canyon, I was absolutely amazed. It was so beautiful there, the cliffs were all pink and I had never seen anything like it.
What did you photograph today? How different are the before/after pictures and how does it make you feel?
I photographed a lot of the cliffs and nature in Zion. I know I wasn't able to capture the beauty but in a place like that it's just impossible to with just a camera.
What did you do to make the trip more than your standard road trip? How have you made it stimulating and productive so far?
I think spending the whole day hiking Angel's Landing was extremely fun and we got to experience one of the best hikes in America.
What was the general morale for the day (positive or negative)? Are there any notable trends? Any suggestions to improve morale and create a more positive atmosphere?
It was extremely happy and positive. The weather was beautiful and we were all in awe of Zion. None of us expected it to be this beautiful because we thought it was one of the lesser popular parks.
What logistical issues were faced today? How were they handled?
No issues today.
Were there any personal issues that came up? If so, how did we take care of it?
We had a little grievances session today in the cabin and it ended with a 5 person wrestle on the bed and then a group hug. It was my friend Hannah's idea to let it all out and then have fun afterwards so we can work to improve while also remaining happy. It went extremely well.
Are there any cultural differences you noticed between where you were today and Ohio?
We weren't around people that much today, we just were hiking.
Has the excitement for adventure present before the trip maintained itself up to this point?
It has definitely been revamped because of how pretty Zion was.
Have you felt like you have “over-documented” the trip yet? If so, how will you adjust and if not, how will you make sure everyone is focused on living in the present rather than focusing on making physical copies of the memories?
No, I do not think I have over documented yet.
Have you found a Greater Meaning to this experience?
I think today I learned that there are some areas of the world that are just more beautiful than you can ever imagine or expect. Zion was definitely my favorite national park so far.
