Today we went to Bryce Canyon and did a couple of hikes to view the beautiful hoodoos. It snowed a bit there which surprised us but it actually wasn't that cold and we made the most of it.
What did you photograph today?
I took a lot of pictures around Bryce and it was fun trying to test out different angles and settings. I think a few turned out really cool and I know more about my camera.
What did you do to make the trip more than your standard road trip? How have you made it stimulating and productive so far?
Today was pretty average, we just went on a few hikes but then came to the hotel early and played games and talked. It was nice to have a refreshing and relaxing early night.
What was the general morale for the day (positive or negative)? Are there any notable trends? Any suggestions to improve morale and create a more positive atmosphere?
I think today was pretty positive even though the weather wasn't what we expected. We were all super excited to spend the night in our cabin we got because it was super cool and it felt really nice to be able to relax for a bit.
What logistical issues were faced today? How were they handled?
There were not any logistical issues.
Were there any personal issues that came up? If so, how did we take care of it?
We didn't have any personal issues either.
Are there any cultural differences you noticed between where you were today and Ohio?
We didn't interact with very many people today, although we did ask a lady if it was normal to get snow in May and she said it was actually. She said usually snow ends in May but sometimes it ends early in April.
Has the excitement for adventure present before the trip maintained itself up to this point?
Have you felt like you have “over-documented” the trip yet? If so, how will you adjust and if not, how will you make sure everyone is focused on living in the present rather than focusing on making physical copies of the memories?
I focused a lot on taking pictures today which I think was good for the practice. However, I wouldn't want to do that every day or else it would be too much.
Have you found a Greater Meaning to this experience?
Today I learned that no one can predict the weather. The day before we left it was supposed to be 80 degrees every day but when we got there it ended up snowing.
